Teams Android phone management is changing

Microsoft began transitioning management of Teams Android devices, including Teams Phones, from the Teams admin center to the Teams Rooms Pro Management portal during 2026. By August 2026, many management workflows are available in or redirecting toward the Pro Management portal, with overlapping Teams admin center functionality scheduled for further retirement. Use the management portal presented for your tenant and follow Microsoft Message Center guidance during the transition. Start with the role

1. Decide how the Yealink phone will be used

The correct configuration starts with the phone’s business role. A phone on one employee’s desk should not automatically receive the same license, sign-in mode, interface, security settings, or calling behavior as a lobby phone or shared reception device. Define the usage model before you power up dozens of handsets.

Individual desk phone
